Reporting Services 2005 - Problems displaying a report via a ReportViewer control.

I have a report that displays fine in VS 2005 (in the Preview tab), and if I hit it via a URL in IE as a deployed report. However, when I embed it in a ReportViewer control for display on a web site, I get no data back for the report. I am using an Oracle database for the data source. None of the the logs in reporting services show anything wrong, there are no events in the event viewer to indicate any problems, Oracle logs also show no problems and no errors are returned to the page when the "View Report" button is clicked.

Anyone out there have a clue? I certainly don't.

The web site is executing the report viewer control with a certain (ASP.NET) user context. Most likely this account does not have any permissions to access the installation of the Oracle client software (or the Oracle client software is not installed at all on the web server).

I thought the same thing at first, but permissions checked out fine. I found out that the problem is a rather esoteric interaction of Div and Table HTML element display characteristics during report generation (at least that's what the MSDN article says at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms252090.aspx).

The gist of it is that when you have the ReportViewer control properties set to render Asynchronously and have the height set to a '%' value (I was using 100%), the calculated height passed in the HTML is set to '0' so no report displays. You have the choice of using a fixed height and Asynchronous rendering or a percentage height and synchronous rendering.

However, when I export report to PDF format all graphic is exported and disp

(without an underscore in the name). The report looked great and worked
properly.
Then I deployed the report to our production server (which has an underscore
in the server name) and experienced the same issues you mentioned. We have
a report that does "drill down" (grouping with expandable groups). That
report does not work properly either. When the reports are deployed to a
server without an underscore in their name they work properly.
I may have a bit more of an explanation for you, but I need to fire off an
email first.

Reporting Services - Analysis Services - Displaying Dimension Members as Columns

I think I've seen a similar post on a blog or on the forums - but it seems like this should be possible -

I have an MDX query - that works fine in SQL Enterprise Manager, and has my dimension members on columns, and my measures on the rows. When I try the same query in Reporting Services, I get the error:

"The query cannot be prepared: The query must have at least one axis. The first axis of the query should not have multiple hierarchies, nor should it reference any dimension other than the Measures dimension..
Parameter name: mdx (MDXQueryGenerator)"

Although it works when you pivot the view, I really need my data presented with the members on the columns and the measures on the rows. Another forum post mentioned using the SQL 9.0 driver, but I can't see this listed anywhere (the only one I see is the .NET framework Data Provider for Microsoft Analysis Services).

Here's what my query looks like -

SELECT
{ [Time].[Month].&[2006-09-01T00:00:00] ,
[Time].[Month].&[2006-10-01T00:00:00],
[Time].[Month].&[2006-11-01T00:00:00],
[Time].[Month].&[2006-12-01T00:00:00]
} on COLUMNS,
{
[Measures].[Unique Users],
[Measures].[UU Pct 1],
[Measures].[UU Pct 2],
} ON ROWS
FROM [Cube]

Any ideas?

As the error message says, the SSRS Analysis Services provider expects dimension on rows. If you want to use this query, you need to bypass the SSRS Analysis Services provider and use directly the OLE DB Provider for Analysis Services 9.0. The limitation of this approach is that the OLE DB driver doesn't support parameters. If you need to parameterize your report, you need to use an expression-based query that concatenates the parameter values, a-la RS 2000.

OLE DB provider for analysis service 9.0 is definitely installed on that machine. I do see that choice from Excel when creating a pivot table based on a cube. I trying to display list of values in the table footer. Here i am using
multivalued datafield and it is displaying only one value. How can I make the
footer to display all of the values of that field? Is there any other
solution?If it is a list of rows shouldn't that be in the details instead of the footer?
